On Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, I read an advertisement in The Union-Recorder with the Title, “How can a Christian vote for the president” and it was in response to an advertisement that Mr. [Floyd] Griffin wrote. I missed that ad. I do believe that everyone has a right to vote for whomever they want, but to use Bible verses to insult another is not very Christian. To say that democrats promote immoral acts and legal abortion — I am a democrat and we are not for abortion, but feel that women should make decisions about their body, not government. What if government decided that men should have a vasectomy on the person who makes the woman pregnant, taking the decision away from them, then how would men feel?

There are 545 children living in cages, taken away from their parents and will probably never know them. You don’t think that’s cruel? You think Jesus would condone that? No, he wouldn’t. We have 220,000-plus people dead from COVID. I know the president has no plan and doesn’t know what to do. He could have prevented some deaths, but didn’t. You think that’s OK?
There will be millions of people without insurance and Medicaid when he gets rid of ACA (Obamacare). He has no replacement. This is just a short list of reasons he should not be re-elected. If I went on a job interview and did not qualify for the job, then I would not be hired. It is nothing personal, just that he is not qualified for the job. He could be a TV star, he’s good at acting, but not president. You have to be intelligent, compassionate and not name call. The Bible says thou shalt not lie; he has 30,000 lies and counting. The original question still remains, why would a Christian vote to re-elect this president?
