Preparation is key to staying safe as weather circumstances can change in an instant.

Severe weather can happen at anytime, anywhere, and with spring’s arrival, the potential for violent weather increases.

We’re not always at home or near a television or radio when the threat of severe weather strikes. That’s why it’s important to make sure to have mobile phone weather apps and alerts on hand that send notifications directly to your smartphone or computer. Weather radios are also important.

Milledgeville-Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency encourages all residents to sign up for the emergency alert system. You can call 478-200-9006 or apply online at https://signup.hyper-reach.com/hyper_reach/sign_up_page_2/?id=84202&fbclid=IwAR3m-AD8e45Z8anZmVCsriJkbr5jINi19my-ppfocqixo01fq8IdWPnf8qg

It’s important to have a way to keep up to date on the latest developments, either through weather apps, radio or through the county alert system.

Every household should also have on hand a list of emergency contacts in the event of severe weather alerts.

Severe weather can happen at any time, anywhere, and with spring’s arrival, the potential for violent weather increases.

Ensuring you have a way to get severe weather warnings is essential.
