Located at 1850 N. Columbia St. in Milledgeville inside the Tractor Supply shopping center, Pearle Vision Milledgeville has some of the newest digital eye exam equipment in the area. The equipment allows them to evaluate for diabetes, high blood pressure, and others have on the eyes. The folks at Pearle Vision Milledgeville can perform yearly comprehensive eye exams for glasses and/or contact lenses. Talley said they can also obtain retinal images, which some patients have requested for their primary care physician.
Talley said they have received a warm community reception.
“[Customers] no longer have to travel to Atlanta to have all the choices that Pearle Vision offers,” he said.
Pearle Vision Milledgeville has also welcomed a new member to its team in Dr. Perry Giles, who is from Sandersville. He is a therapeutic doctor of optometry with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of many eye diseases such as dry eye. The doctor has added training in treatments to prevent progression of myopia or nearsightedness. Giles wanted to return to the Milledgeville area so that he would be closer to his family, making Pearle Vision’s Milledgeville location an ideal fit.
“Your vision health is very important not just for your quality of life but also for your overall health,” said Talley.
Talley explained that he struggled early on in school due to uncorrected vision. He said there are many children that still struggle, and he’s glad to be a part of the solution.

“My favorite part of running Pearle Vision is that we have seen many children that have not had very many choices for their eyewear or were even able to be examined by an optometrist and have full corrected vision,” he said. “It’s a great feeling when they say they can see the leaves on the trees or what the teacher has written on the chalkboard is no longer blurry.”
Pearle Vision Milledgeville also offers telehealth appointments, where eye exams can be performed even when Dr. Giles is away from the store as well as outside of regular office hours. Pearle Vison Milledgeville is as one might expect, a member of the Pearle Vision chain, whose parent company is Luxottica, an Italian eyewear company. Being a member allows the Milledgeville location access to several eyewear designers and manufacturers such as Ray-Ban, Silhouette, Oakley, Coach, Versace, and many more. Talley said that they have more than 1,110 frames on hand in the store.
Other than massive amounts of frames, Pearle Vision Milledgeville is also currently offering several specials. This includes their Back to school special on contact lenses.
Talley also added that customers who mention the news article and bring it to Pearle Vision Milledgeville can receive a free upgrade on lens coatings such as transitions.
Pearle Vision Milledgeville’s office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Though appointments can be made online, Talley said that more appointment times are available by calling the store at 478-453-0011.
