Downtown Milledgeville Nutrition slated to open Feb. 14

Working in business management and marketing has taken Melissa Daniel to several places across the country and now she’s coming home at last.

The Milledgeville native has spent the last 10 years in northern Alabama, but Daniel said that she is excited to return to her hometown and to give back to the community.

Daniel is preparing to open her new business, Downtown Milledgeville Nutrition, located at 117 S. Wayne St. in Milledgeville. After traveling to several places in search of a location, Daniel was ultimately led back to where she lived until she was 17 years old. At the end of the day there was no place like home for her, and that helped Daniel make the decision to open up shop in Milledgeville.  

Downtown Milledgeville Nutrition is located in the heart of Downtown Milledgeville. The name of the business, naturally, comes from the fact that Daniel and her team love their community and being part of it.

On the menu, customer will find meal replacement shakes, energizing teas, along with protein-based coffee and other supplements. Many of the drinks, including Paradise Sunset, are uniquely named by Daniel and members of her team.

It’s a menu filled with healthy options, with their teas and shakes featuring vitamins and minerals aimed at helping the body. There are also, as Daniel explained, clean energy drinks with aloe that assist in soothing the digestive system. The protein coffees less than 2 grams of sugar.

The business began thanks to Daniel’s interest in living a different lifestyle.

“It started by my personal interest in health and nutrition for a better lifestyle for myself and my family, which led to me wanting to give that back to other people for a healthier lifestyle in my community as a whole,” she said.

Building Downtown Milledgeville Nutrition, which is slated to open its doors on Feb. 14, has, in her words, been a rewarding experience. She added that the business has experienced an amazing early response from the community, and that she and her team at Downtown Milledgeville Nutrition cannot wait to grow with them.

Downtown Milledgeville Nutrition will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
