Dennis garners postseason awards

After making waves in the regular season, Baldwin High product and Southern Union State Community College men’s basketball freshman Isaiah Dennis racked up some postseason awards as well.
The Union-Recorder All-County Boys Basketball Player of the Year in 2024, the sharpshooting guard was named Second Team All-Alabama Community College Conference after averaging 17.1 points per game and shooting 35.9% from 3 in his first season at the collegiate level. Dennis also scored 24 and 32 points in his team’s two NJCAA Division I South District Championship tournament games. Those efforts were good enough to land him on the All-Tournament Team. The 32-point effort marked the fifth time this season that he met or surpassed the 30-point plateau.
Dennis and the Bison lost the South District Championship game 98-90 to Wallace State CC back on March 8, ending SUSCC’s season. Dennis went 6-of-14 (42.9%) from the floor and 11-for-22 overall to lead his team in scoring that final ballgame.
