“We are proud to extend our congratulations to Delvecchio Finley on his second recognition by Modern Healthcare, as they acknowledge his success in both improving talent diversity and addressing health equity in our central Georgia communities,” said Atrium Health Navicent Board Chair Starr Purdue.
With more than 20 years of health care leadership experience, Finley joined Atrium Health Navicent in 2021. Finley is the quintessential success story. Raised in public housing in Atlanta, he saw health care as a pathway to serving others and promoting equity for disadvantaged communities. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Emory University, in Atlanta, and a master’s degree in public policy from the Sanford Institute for Public Policy at Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina. Through hard work and a solid educational foundation, Finley quickly established himself within the health care industry, becoming a first-time CEO in his mid-30s.
A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Finley currently serves as chair of the organization. He is also a former board member of the American Hospital Association and the past chair of the America’s Essential Hospitals Institute. Finley also serves on the boards of several statewide entities including the Georgia Hospital Association, the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Research Alliance.
“Modern Healthcare’s 2023 Top Diversity Leaders and organizations exemplify a commitment to meaningful diversity, equity, and inclusion,” said Dan Peres, president of Modern Healthcare. “They have exceeded industry standards and continue to devote necessary resources to providing internal opportunities while advancing community health equity, setting a great example for others.”
The profiles of all the honorees and honored organizations are featured in the October 16 print issue of Modern Healthcare magazine and at ModernHealthcare.com/awards/top-diversity-leaders-healthcare-2023.
