EVANS: Pres. Biden: Too old or too independent?

Letter to the Editor

Each and every day we are continuously reminded, by most national media outlets of President Biden’s age accompanied by subtle implications that he is too old to serve again.  Simply being a senior citizen should not, in itself disqualify one from performing any task or job which they are capable of performing.

I have lost count of how many times I have been told that I should stop skating and playing football with the kids because of my age. Do not let your priorities be diverted to insignificant factors such as age, sex, or race which in no way determines a person’s ability to do a job.

Look beyond the obvious focus on competence, knowledge, character, experience, honesty and the vast amount of wisdom which comes with age. Understand, it’s not Pres. Biden’s age that the 1% fear, it’s his independence and knowledge.

Having spent a lifetime in politics, he knows where all the skeletons are buried and where all the money is located and how it can be split more equitably to help our working, middle class and the less fortunate. Yes, the 1% is terrified by the very thought of having a president who is not compromised and restrained by cooperate cash and is free to make independent decisions based on merit and not the cash contributions needed to fund a reelection campaign.

Pres. Biden would not be able to run again and would not need their financial support, therefore, allowing him the freedom to implement programs that the 1% have always opposed.  If reelected, President Biden surely would have reached his pinnacle and the 1% is terrified at the thought of having a president whose actions could not be overly influenced by money or power.

Pres. Biden has made it clear that he supports the rich paying their fair share of taxes, supports workers and unions, student loan forgiveness, health care, gun control and positive social security reform, positions all opposed by the 1%.  Many of those who control most major media outlets and bash Pres. Biden’s age have no problem supporting a candidate just three years younger.  Yes, they always hunger for a younger ambitious candidate, willing to sell their soul to the devil for the wealth, power and position these power brokers could provide.

Understand that it was because of his independence, that Pres. Biden was able to join a picket line with workers, an unheard of act by a sitting President and one that you are unlikely to see again in the near future.  Voters in this country, at this time, are presented with the unique opportunity to loosen the cooperate grip on our political system.  Wake up people, do more research and independent thinking before you start repeating the cooperate line that is constantly feed to you by the main stream media outlets.   At this critical juncture in our divided country, now, more than ever, we need wisdom, a mature mind and a steady hand at the helm.

I urge you all, to not vote for a person or a party, but vote for a platform. Support ideas that promote security, unity, safety and prosperity for all of our citizens, not just the 1%, and you and the country will be all the better for it.
