Chicken Salad Chick opening Wednesday

Lanier McLeod is coming back to Milledgeville. And, she’s bringing a Chicken Salad Chick franchise along with her.

She attended Georgia College, so Milledgeville holds a special place in her heart and many memories.  

Lanier and her husband, Rod McLeod, of the RLM Restaurant Group, are the owners and operators of the new Chicken Salad Chick restaurant at 1901 N. Columbia St. It opens on Wednesday (Nov. 15).

“Milledgeville is my second home,” Lanier McLeod said. “There’s been so much anticipation from our guests around this opening, which has been really fun for us to know that the community shares the same excitement we do for Chicken Salad Chick. We can’t wait to serve them.”  

The McLeods opened their first Chicken Salad Chick in Warner Robins in 2016, then quickly grew with additional locations in Newnan, Carrollton and Macon. 

The Milledgeville community is invited to celebrate the grand opening with specials and giveaways.

On Wednesday, the first guest in line will receive one large Quick Chick (4 servings) of chicken salad per week for a year. The next 99 guests in line receive one large Quick Chick of chicken salad per month for a year.

Guests should arrive early to secure a place in line.

“Through the years we have also formed a family within our company, and we love to watch these young people grow,” Lanier McLeod said. “It is so rewarding to see team members, who often start in high school, stick with our company and become shift leaders, assistant managers and general managers at our restaurants.”  

Chicken Salad Chick serves more than a dozen original chicken salad flavors as well as side salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts.

Chicken Salad flavors include: Classic Carol (all white meat, shredded chicken, finely minced celery, mayonnaise and secret seasoning); Fancy Nancy (Fuji apples, seedless grapes and pecans); and Fruity Fran (a blend of Fuji apples, seedless grapes and pineapple).

Other sandwiches include egg salad, pimento cheese and turkey club. Salads include broccoli, grape and pasta. 

The Milledgeville store will be open Monday — Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
