Theft by Shoplifting

An officer responded to Walmart on North Columbia Street June 4, in reference to a theft. The 911 caller witnessed a female customer attempt to shoplift by scanning only half of several miscellaneous items in her cart at the self-checkout kiosk and attempt to leave. The female did not present a form of payment at the kiosk. The complainant confronted the female who denied all accusations. The complainant advised that the cart full of items should be taken from the female, but the female was insistent that she would go put the items back herself. When the police arrived they could not locate the female in the store.

Theft

An officer responded to the area of the 3000 block of Sussex Drive June 5, in reference missing items in the complainant’s house. The complainant’s ex-fiance, whom the complainant has a protection order against, was allowed to retrieve his personal belongings from the residence. Between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. the ex-fiance retrieved his personal belongings with the help of two other subjects. The complainant noticed some of her personal belongings missing. The ex-fiance stated that he only took his personal belongings, which were in boxes already packed. The other subjects helped the ex-fiance move the larger items from the house in which the officer located and was unable to find any of the missing items.
