Missing man found alive

A 22-year-old man who had been reported as missing and was last seen at the Oconee River Greenway has been found safe, local authorities say.
Milledgeville Police Chief Dray Swicord said Bryan Runyon, who state and local authorities had been searching for at the Greenway, called his mother this morning while the search was ongoing and told her he was on his way to Savannah.
Milledgeville PD units responded to the Greenway at 10:45 p.m. Thursday to search for Runyon, whose family members said he was last seen walking at the Greenway at approximately 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Trails were checked that night by MPD officers, drone units, and the K9 unit. Law enforcement returned to the scene Friday morning to continue the search along the river before the missing man indicated he was safe.

The Greenway had been closed to the public during the search, but it has now reopened.
