Amilliana Simmons named to Western Carolina University’s Spring 2025 Chancellor’s List

Amilliana Simmons of Milledgeville was named to the Western Carolina University Spring 2025 Chancellor’s List.

Simmons was among more than 2,900 students to achieve this honor. To qualify for the Chancellor’s List, students must earn a GPA of 3.8 or higher. Students named to the Chancellor’s List are also named to the Dean’s List.

Bettina Lee makes Spring 2025 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University

Bettina Lee, a resident of Milledgeville made the spring 2025 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 885 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

To be eligible for the Academic Achievement List, a student must previously earn at least 12 credit hours at GSW, be enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of courses, and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Elects New Members

The following people recently were elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

–Analisa Martin of Milledgeville (31061) at Georgia College & State University

–Kaitlin Van Voorhis of Milledgeville (31061) at Georgia College & State University

They are among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Jacob Steele of Gordon Awarded Degree from UA

Jacob Steele of Gordon has received the following degree(s) from The University of Alabama: Bachelor of Arts. UA awarded over 6,000 degrees during its spring commencement ceremonies.

Locals among 4,000 students to graduate from Georgia State University

More than 4,000 students graduated from Georgia State University at the conclusion of the Spring 2025 semester. Graduating students were honored during the university’s 110th commencement exercises in May.
