Brothers indicted by grand jury on aggravated assault charges

A Baldwin County grand jury has indicted a pair of brothers from Milledgeville on multiple counts of aggravated assault and other criminal charges.

The indictments were returned last week against Antonio Bernard Spencer and Shawn Jermaine Spencer, according to records filed in the Baldwin County Superior Court Clerk’s Office.

The brothers were each charged with four counts of aggravated assault.

Grand jurors contend Antonio Spencer and Shawn Spencer acted together and as parties in the aggravated assault cases that happened  March 20.

Handguns were used in the drive-by shootings of four individuals inside a residence in Baldwin County.

Antonio Spencer was also indicted on charges of criminal damage to property in the second degree, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, court records show.

Shawn Spencer was also indicted on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act for possession of cocaine, criminal damage to property in the second degree, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The case was investigated by Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Detective Lt. Deidre Byrd.
