The Union-Recorder and its affiliated publications are proud to announce the appointment of Frank Perea as their new publisher.

I’m incredibly excited to have the opportunity to be the publisher of The Union Recorder, with its rich tradition of local reporting and its relevance to the diverse readership and businesses throughout Baldwin and surrounding counties. As a seasoned newspaper industry veteran, I bring a wealth of experience to my new role. Before joining The Union-Recorder, I oversaw over a dozen community newspapers as Chief Revenue executive and group publisher in Oregon. My publishing career includes extensive experience in Montana, Colorado and North Dakota. I have been a publisher at one of the nation’s largest news organizations and the general manager of a prominent daily outside Chicago.

Betty Ramsey, Vice President of Carpenter Media Group, said, “Frank Perea has a strong commitment to local newspapers and an unwavering spirit to the communities that he has served.”

With changes in the media landscape throughout the country, I love that here in Baldwin County, we live, work and invest in local businesses and our communities. We will continue representing all local community members and businesses as your most trusted media source in Baldwin County. You will find our commitment to local content, investment within our communities, advertising solutions and editorial coverage informative and engaging.

I invite readers to stop in and let the staff know how we can improve your community newspaper. When I ask readers what they want to see in their newspaper, they typically respond by posting more community photos and local news. I mirror that with my philosophy of increasing local coverage while running features that stimulate conversation within the community.

As I enter my new role, I pledge to continue the legacy of dedication and excellence at The Union-Recorder. I look forward to building on the strong foundation laid by those before me and ensuring our publications remain a vital resource for our communities and for generations to come.
