Pelton attributes her career to her background in dance and musical theater. She began taking dance classes through the Georgia College Community Dance Program at age 3, and she continued dancing through high school and beyond college.
In elementary school, Pelton started voice lessons and musical theater.
In middle school, Pelton took up even more facets of the arts, playing instruments and taking drawing lessons.
“My parents sat me down and they were like, ‘Liv, you have to choose one thing and you can pursue that one thing in your career. We have to focus it down because you’re doing to much.’ I thought that was really unfair. I wanted to do as many of those things as possible professionally,” said Pelton.
After doing research, Pelton realized a way that she could pursue all of her career goals.
“I found that I could pursue a BFA in musical theatre and a career as a professional performing artist who sings, dances, acts, can play instruments and contribute my creative skills and passions in a multitude of ways,” said Pelton. “I knew that this was the only path for me because I could include everything that I loved in pursuing this career.”

Pelton graduated from Brenau University with a BFA in musical theatre and a BFA in acting.
In 2022, Pelton moved to New York City, which she says is the place to be when pursuing a career like hers. After moving, she began assistant teaching for a Tribeca school of dance. She now teaches for Broadway Bound Kids, a non-profit school that sends teachers into New York City schools to teach dance, theatre and music.
Teaching for Broadway Bound Kids has allowed Pelton to teach in the Upper East Side, Queens and the Bronx. In addition to teaching for Broadway Bound Kids, Pelton teaches private voice lessons. Some of her students are Milledgeville natives.
Pelton recently portrayed Morticia Addams in Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre’s production of “The Addams Family” in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She took up the same role for Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre’s sister theatre, Broadway Palm, in Fort Meyers, Florida.
Pelton is currently playing Sandy in “Grease” at the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, Tennessee. The show nearly sold out within the first two weeks of production. After “Grease,” Pelton will play Cynthia Weil in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.”
Pelton is currently working toward her goal of playing a leading role in a national tour. She says that her big goal is to work as a professional actor on Broadway in New York City.
Pelton auditions daily and she is always looking for the next thing. She still takes dance and voice lessons as a professional to stay in shape as a performer.
“It’s like a constant gig,” said Pelton. “You’re constantly working at this in order to get to the next place.”
Pelton says that she appreciates the start that she had in Milledgeville.
“I felt and still feel very loved and supported by the community that I had there,” said Pelton. “Seeing people still cheer me on to pursue this dream that they’ve seen me have my whole life has just been really, really special. It makes me really happy to get to go out and do these things because of the training and the upbringing that I had there.”
