The unemployment rate in Baldwin County has crept up in recent month, a trend seen throughout Central Georgia. That’s likely because recent spring and summer graduates have entered the job market, which means employees are looking for work.
But as the number of job seekers has increased, so too, has the job availability. Georgia’s labor force increased to nearly 5.4 million last month, according to the Georgia Department of Labor.

This event is a way for employers and potential employees to connect right here in Baldwin County.
This year’s Employ Baldwin job fair is slated for Aug. 22 from 3 to 6 p.m. on the Milledgeville campus of Central Georgia Technical College.
The event is free for job seekers.
Last year nearly 200 prospective employees attended the event, which has grown each year since it was launched four years ago, and there were more than 25 businesses on hand seeking employees. That’s a great sign that jobs are available here in Baldwin County.
If you are looking for a job, mark your calendar for this event. If you’re an area business seeking to fill positions — make sure that you are represented.
