In all, GPA presented 490 awards in 46 categories to 61 newspapers all across Georgia. The Union-Recorder qualified in weekly Division C — newspapers circulating 3,800 to 15,000 prints per publication.

The Milledgeville Scene Women’s Issue featured stories highlighting local women within community, from the Baldwin County Regional Airport encouraging young women in aviation to Milledgeville’s first female mayor, Mary Parham-Copelan. The publication also focused on the women taking on leadership and government roles within the community and included a feature story on new Georgia College & State University President Cathy Cox.
