Remodeled local store helping Tractor Supply Co. better serve its niche

For more than 80 years, the Tractor Supply company has taken immense pride in serving its unique niche — from farmers, ranchers and anyone who enjoys living a rural lifestyle with the help of team members and more. 

The company operates 2,027 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states as of 2022 and last October, it acquired 81 stores from Orscheln Farm and Home, which will be converted into Tractor Supply locations by the end of this year. 

So, what does that have to do with Milledgeville? 

The Milledgeville Tractor Supply store recently underwent renovations and got several upgrades. The renovations were part of the Project Fusion remodel initiative which Tractor Supply began with stores across the country in 2020.

Customers will still be able to find everything from clothing and footwear to lawn and garden supplies and more at Tractor Supply Milledgeville. However, they are sure to notice more than a few differences on the next visit to 1575 S. Jefferson St. The layout of the store has been improved in order to make shopping easier and more accessible to shoppers. There is also a new customer service hub that features digital tools that have been upgraded. Tractor Supply Milledgeville has also been able to expand their assortment of assorted items such as pet food and animal feed. 

Arguably the crown jewel of the renovations is the new garden center at Tractor Supply Milledgeville. The garden center offers customers various new lawn and garden products. Customers will now be able to find items like shrubs, fruit trees, herbs, vegetables, and more, all in one location. 

A Tractor Supply representative said what makes its “state of the art” garden center special is the fact that it “caters to a whole new Tractor Supply customer in gardeners and landscapers.”

 Another new addition to Tractor Supply Milledgeville is the Tractor Supply pet wash, where pet owners will have access to everything they need to wash their pets for $9.99. The store also carries pet items that customers can pick up before or after a wash, including beds, toys and collars. 

“The new customer service with upgraded tools will help customers find what they need in-store more easily. Customers will also find top-tier items from national brands such as Scotts, Miracle-Gro and Bonnie Vegetables, as well as new options for professional landscapers in the new garden center,” according to company representative Annalee Rivers. “With the pet wash, customers can now pamper their pets with a bath in an easy and convenient washing station loaded with professional-grade equipment and high-quality products.”

While no additional upgrades are in the cards for the Milledgeville location in the near future, Tractor Supply did mention that that they are “always open to expanding [their] offerings to better provide for the communities [they] serve.”
