FONSECA: Teamwork the key to achievement

Letter to the Editor

Christmas Day is always memorable as we recall bright-eyed children filled with happiness over their new toys, family get-togethers and traditions that mark the season. But the holiday season in 2022 will also be remembered as a year when the extreme cold that left hundreds of Milledgeville and Baldwin County homes and businesses without water.

While they would have ordinarily been celebrating the holiday, Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin teammates joined with Milledgeville and Baldwin County facility teams to ensure our patients were able to complete their recoveries, and that we’d be able to meet the community’s health needs. Mayor Mary Parham-Copelan made it clear that the hospital would be a priority in the restoration effort, and her team stood ready with whatever resources we needed.

At Atrium Health Navicent, a set of culture commitments guide everything we do. The Milledgeville and Baldwin County departments joined with our teammates in embodying our commitment to “Work as One Team to do great things.”

We’d like to sincerely thank Mayor Parham-Copelan, City Administrator Hank Griffin, Water/Sewer Director Robert Hadden, Water/Sewer Utility Maintenance Director Kevin Veal, Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency Director Wayne Johnson and their respective teams for their partnership, and the integral role they played in helping us to improve health, elevate hope and advance healing!
