I have great respect for Floyd Griffin. He has faithfully served our country, our state, and our local community as mayor of Milledgeville. Few have served our community more.

I was disappointed that a local respected leader in our community has chosen to publicly support a local candidate by pursuing a negative campaign against the other. As we select our future local elected leaders, it should be about their potential to do great things for our community rather than a personal attack about an event in the past. It should not be about national party politics. Our community is better than that! Our community is of a size that we all have extended friends that know each other. Here, throwing stones at your neighbor will likely lead to disagreements close to home.
I will not follow that poor example. I will highlight that state representative candidate Ken Vance has for decades served his community and state in many positions. For many years he was a Milledgeville City Councilman. He has local law enforcement experience. He was appointed by three state governors to positions of great responsibility in Georgia state leadership for public safety.
If elected, Ken Vance will begin his term working with many state leaders he already knows. He will already have great understanding of state organizations that can support our community.
In summary, it is about what our candidates are likely to accomplish. It is about which candidate has the experience and the potential to serve our community in the best and the most expeditious manner.
