Milledgeville Cares has been helping those most at-risk for over 20 years, and now we are at-risk! We have only 10 financial donors this year with four households sustaining the service; six others have made one-time donations.

We spent $22,188.28 last year, helping 120 people, 81 families with 160 members. This first eight months of 2022, we have spent $26,815.79 helping 217 (almost double) families representing 165 members. 

If this trend continues, we will need $18,036 more just to break even with last year’s trend — needing $44,851 (DOUBLE LAST YEAR’S TOTAL) this year. 

Providing furniture, household items, linens, and explaining where and how to get necessary help in a myriad of ways, we listen with love and do this out of our cars! Without an office, we must go to them, and many times it requires taking them places. 

We have been offered an office, but we have not been able to get the deed or key for weeks. Inflation is escalating the cost of materials needed for a $35,000 renovation. We pray that others will see our need and help us. Please call 478-457-5311 for more information.
