The following is information compiled from public records of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. Shots Fired
An officer responded to the area of the 800 Matheson Road June 26, in reference to shots fried by a third party caller. The officer arrived on the scene and saw a male entering his car at the residence. The officer instructed him to stop and talk with the officer. The male’s body language was defensive and the male told about an altercation with his fiancé. There was an argument but nothing physical because he exited the residence. There were no injuries or shell casings so the male was let go. However, the fiancé had several active warrants so she was arrested and transported Baldwin County Jail.
Theft
An officer responded to the 5-Star Beauty Supply on North Columbia Street June 26, in reference to a possible theft. The victim stated her Samsung Galaxy 8 was located on the counter. The victim stated that an unknown customer may have accidentally picked up her phone when she picked up a wig. The victim stated that she contacted the customer and she told the victim that she could get her phone back in Sandersville. When the officer called the customer she stated that she would bring the phone back to the store before closing.
Trespassing
An officer responded to the Super Inn and Suites on North Columbia Street June 26, in reference to possible trespassing. The complainant stated that a male has been trespassed from the hotel and returned to the property. The complainant did not wish to have him arrested for criminal trespass but wanted the officer to warn the male once more.
Theft
An officer responded to Discount Tobacco on South Wilkinson Street June 28, in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that he left the store and accidentally dropped his wallet in the parking lot. He noticed his wallet was missing and returned to the location to find his wallet gone. The complainant spoke with store personal and viewed security footage of a male and a female observing the wallet, taking it and driving away. The couple even made eye contact with the complainant and made no attempt to return it to him. If the offenders return to the location, law enforcement will be notified.
Battery
An officer responded to the outside of Ned Kelly’s bar June 27, in reference to a fight that already occurred. The complainant stated that a male subject was involved in a fight and was walking toward East Greene Street and had a bloody face. Once the officer tracked down the subject and stated that a male punched him in the mouth so he put the male in a chokehold and then left the business. Once outside, four other males jumped on him before law enforcement could arrive. The other male involved confirmed the altercation. Both parties declined to press charges.
Damage to property
An officer responded to the area of the 2000 block of Melody Way June 27, in reference to a possible damage to property. The complainant stated that he came outside to let his dogs out and noticed his car had paint poured all over it. On the inside of the car there was a Clorox bottle poured all over the seats. In addition, his fishing rod was thrown across the yard. Paint cans and brushes were taken in for evidence.
Damage to property
An officer responded to the area of the 2000 block of Holly Drive June 27, in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated that a male, possibly a juvenile, attempted to get into her garage, but was unable to. He then went back of the house and ripped off the screens of four windows. He made several attempts to lift the window but the male gave up and left the residence. The camera footage was turned over to the police to identify the male.
