Entering Auto
An officer was dispatched to an Irwin Street address Jan. 20 in the 200 block of Irwin Street in reference to entering auto. The officer spoke with a woman who said she stepped out of the shower and noticed that items in her residence were out of place. She also noticed that the driver’s side window had been broken out of her Acura TL. She noticed a man in a black hoodie sitting inside a silver Toyota Camry — her neighbor’s vehicle — parked two cars away from her car. She asked the man if he had broken her window and he replied no. She said she reached in her car to grab her gun, but realized her gun was missing. She stated she then proceeded to call the police. She told her neighbor about the situation also. Property of both victims was found near the bushes in the front of the apartment complex. Items taken included a 9 mm pink and black gun, valued at approximately $140. While an officer took down the victims information, another officer was scanning the area when he saw someone and begin shouting verbal commands for someone to show him their hands. The officer discovered a man hiding under a house in the area of North Irwin Street. The man was placed in restraints and in his possession was a teal 9mm Glock and a backpack containing several items including a pink and black handgun matching the victim’s description of her gun as well as marijuana in a baggie, a scale and 9mm ammunition. The suspect was transported him to Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
