Events aim to inform crime victims, families

ATLANTA — Victim services officials in Georgia are inviting crime victims to participate in an annual ceremony and open house.

The Victims Visitors' Day events hosted by the multi-agency Victim Services Partnership are set for April 23 at State Offices South at Tift College in Forsyth.

The ceremony and open house are meant to honor crime victims and increase public awareness about victims' rights. The open house will give crime victims and their families a chance to meet with parole staff to discuss offender cases and to learn more about the services offered by various victim services agencies.

The events are part of National Crime Victims' Rights Week, which runs from April 21 to 27.

Those who wish to attend the events are asked to register in advance.
