Lake Country Bridal Show preps brides-to-be after saying 'yes'

MILLEDGEVILLE — Saying yes to his proposal was the easy part. Now all that's left is to plan the wedding of your dreams. The 2013 Lake Country Bridal Show can assist you with that goal. Brides-to-be can check out everything they need for wedding planning at the upcoming Lake Country Bridal Show to be held at the Milledgeville Country Club in Baldwin County.

“It's a fun event for everyone,” said Danielle Fietkau, wedding show coordinator. “Whether you're getting married or just making plans for a future wedding, you're sure to find something that will interest you.”

This is Fietikau's second year coordinating the wedding show, but with one difference.

“Last year, I helped Erin Simmons, the previous coordinator, with all the planning, but this year I'm doing it on my own and it's been so much fun,” Fietkau said with enthusiasm as she reflected on the different vendors she's come in contact with while planning the event.

What's great for those who attend the Lake Country bridal show is that it serves as a one-stop shop to get to know the various vendors and services that are involved in the preparation of the wedding, from the planning to the I Do’s.

“There were so many vendors who were interested in this bridal show. Some are returning from last year, but there are some new ones too who wanted to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Fietkau.

Vendors are still able to register for the event. Registration for the event will last until Wednesday, Feb. 20.

This year's brides will be treated to a gourmet cupcake tasting contest, with a little surprise for a lucky bride to be.

“Inside one of the cupcakes will be a ring. Whoever has the cupcake with the ring receives a $300 gift certificate to J.C. Grant Jewelers,” said Fietkau.

The show is set for Sunday, Feb. 24 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The cost to attend the bridal show is $15 per bride, and guests of the bride may attend the show free of charge, but are not eligible to win prizes. The admission fee covers prizes, gift bags and the cupcake tasting.
