Ceremony honors Georgia College Early College kings and queens

MILLEDGEVILLE — Georgia College Early College (GCEC) will recognize students selected as homecoming representatives during a ceremony in the Magnolia Ballroom at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

This is the first time GCEC has held a ceremony to honor the students selected as king and queen in each grade level.

“Since we serve Baldwin and Putnam counties, our students are encouraged to join in their home school’s homecoming activities, but since they are at different times it can sometime make it hard to celebrate,” said Dr. Runee Sallad, principal of GCEC. “We wanted to begin a tradition our students can collectively look forward to.”

The representatives will be dressed in tuxedoes and gowns as they are called to the stage and named king or queen.

The ceremony is hosted by the Parent Advisory Committee and will also include performances by students.
