Classy Consignments invites shoppers, droppers

MILLEDGEVILLE —

Living in Milledgeville for more than 25 years after retiring from the Secretary of State’s Office, Macon native Elaine Liester’s interest peaked for bringing the local community a consignment shop offering gently used furniture and home decor pieces.

Located at 695 Dunlap Road under the Flea Market at Pittman’s Nursery billboard, Liester and husband, Norman, opened Classy Consignments in mid-May, selling items at affordable price ranges, from less than 25 cents to a few hundred dollars.

Classy Consignments focuses on selling consigned furniture and home decor items. There is no charge to consign unless the item sells, at which a 25 percent convenience fee is deducted from proceeds to the consignor. Items must be clean and free of noticeable damage.

Elaine hopes to offer a pick-up service in the future for consignors wanting to sell their items through the store as well as expand to surrounding areas.

Open by appointment and from noon to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and closed for lunch 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Classy Consignments has plans to hold a fall yard sale in the store’s parking lot featuring less expensive consigned items.

For more information about consigning, call (478) 696-2337 or visit the Classy Consignments of Baldwin, LLC Facebook page.
