MILLEDGEVILLE — Students in grades four through eight who placed first in their school level spelling competition at their grade level were distinguished as Baldwin Spelling Scholars Tuesday.
MASAB Temple #11, Baldwin Masonic Lodge 159 & BAE presented each student with a monetary award. In addition, Georgia Association of Educators also gave certificates.
Winners include:
• Blandy Hills Elementary: fourth-grader Arleth Juarez and fifth-grader Saniyyah Russell;
• Creekside Elementary: fourth-grader Jayson Burner and fifth-grader Ryan Barsby;
• Eagle Ridge Elementary: fourth-grader Jaylon Benton and fifth-grader Amiya Northern;
• Midway Elementary: fourth-grader Christian Burton and fifth-grader Brandon Walls;
• Oak Hill Middle: sixth-grader Nephthys McCrae, seventh-grader Alexis Roberson and eighth-grader Morgan Atkinson; and
• Georgia College Early College: seventh-grader Jermiriez Stanley and eighth-grader Jala Warren.
