Students study Egypt

Mummies, sarcophagi, political rivalry and monuments that defy our modern understanding of the ancient world were subjects of study for the seventh-grade students at Georgia College Early College since Thanksgiving.

Tasked with creating scale replicas and models, detailed replicas of ancient clothing and researching it all, the students made their teachers proud by working so hard on all their projects.

“I’m impressed,” Lianna Nix, teacher at Early College, said. “I’m just really impressed.”

The students were required to pick topics to create their replicas and to use the resources at their disposal. The students used Georgia College and State University library and Internet access to research their topics. The students then presented their projects and the fruits of their research to the rest of the class Monday.
