Curves kicks off new complete workout program

MILLEDGEVILLE —

Milledgeville resident Janice Wilkes was hit with the realization that getting healthy could make a difference between life and death after losing her mother to health problems.

Wilkes became a member with Curves of Milledgeville and stuck with the program. She eventually became a fitness trainer before purchasing the franchise in 2010, located in the Big Lots shopping center.

Curves specializes in a 30-minute workout in a facility specifically designed for women to get an hour workout in just half the time. The facility recently reinvented from a gym with a weight-loss plan to a moderately priced weight-loss facility with a gym called Curves Complete. The total-body workout helps to build lean muscle and burn body fat to boost metabolism, speed weight loss and make it easier to maintain weight.

As October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Curves will waive the $99 membership fee for women who have proof of having a mammogram within the last year or have a scheduled appointment.

Curves of Milledgeville is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, until 6 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

For more information about the Curves Complete program or to become a member, call (478) 414-1141, e-mail curvesmv@windstream.net, or visit www.curves.com.
