MILLEDGEVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Warren Strickler III of Atlanta are pleased to announce the engagement of their  daughter, Laura Palmer Strickler to Thomas Jefferson Owens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Christian  Owens Jr. of Milledgeville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Cyrus Warren  Strickler Jr., Mrs. Edwin Rembert DuBose and the late Mr. DuBose, all of Atlanta.   Miss Strickler is a graduate of the Landmark School of Prides Crossing, Mass. and the University  of Mississippi, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was also a 2004  Atlanta Debutante.   She is employed with the Tophat Soccer Club as the program director.   

The groom-elect is the grandson of the Mr. and Mrs. William Davis Millians, the late Mr. and Mrs. John  Boyd Butts and the late Mr. Jefferson Christian Owens Sr., all of Milledgeville. He is a graduate of  Baldwin High School and the University of Georgia. He is a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, the Nine  O’Clocks of Atlanta and the Cricket Club of Birmingham, Alabama. He is employed with Morgan Keegan  & Company, as an investment banker.     An August wedding is planned at All Saints Episcopal Church in Linville, N.C.
