MILLEDGEVILLE —
Lewis and Melanie Smith of Danville are pleased to announce the engagement and marriage of their daughter, Louise Ann Smith, to James (Jim) William Chapman, son of Wayne and Frances Chapman of Milledgeville.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Beatrice and Lewis Smith Sr. of Danville and Dr. Kathryn and the late Leonard Powell of Milledgeville.
The groom is the grandson of the late Maude and James Roberson of Milledgeville and Myrtle and the late William Chapman of Milledgeville.
The wedding was held March 26, 2011 at the residence of Cathie Powell at 104 Live Oak Lane in Milledgeville. The Rev. Alan Mitchell officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Lewis A. Smith. The Main of Honor was Louise’s best friend, Ms. Lindsey Jones of Macon, Georgia and the Matron of Honor was Louise’s cousin, Ms. Grace Powell of Marietta. The Best Man was Jim’s father, Mr. Wayne Chapman.
The bridesmaids were Carole Wylie-Kane (former roommate of the bride), Jessica Brown (friend of the Bride), Ali Powell (cousin of the bride), Missy Hall (sister-in-law of the bride), and Caryn Lobdell (former roommate of the bride). The flower girl was the niece of the bride, Miss Liz Hall, of Newnan. The groomsmen were Joseph Young (nephew of the groom), Jonathan Young (nephew of the groom), Randy Hall (brother of the bride), Chris Hall (brother of the bride), Scott Little, Trevor McSwane, Warren Franks, and Shane Preston, who are all friends of the groom.
The wedding reception was held at the Milledgeville Country Club. At the reception, the groom’s current band, Gunshy, of which he is a drummer, and his former band, The Scott Little Band, both performed.
Many special people assisted the bride and groom that day. Ms. Danielle Fields of Fields Photography and Framing was the wedding photographer, and Ms. Sarah Calies was the wedding director. Ms. Cathie Powell and Ms. Maxine Williamson were the hostesses of the wedding. Mr. William Humphrey was the soloist, with Mr. Charles Quinn and Ms. Rebecca Towns being the musical attendants at the wedding and reception. Other special helpers included the Master of Ceremony of the reception, Mr. Cal Powell, and Mrs. Ruth Hooker of the Milledgeville Country Club.
Honeymoon plans followed in Orlando, Fla. with the newlyweds currently reside in Milledgeville.
The bride and groom would both like to thank their families and friends for their support and love.
