MILLEDGEVILLE —
I am one who whole heartily supports the concept of shop at home. I have written letters to the editor in the past, urging the County Commission, the city and everyone to shop at home. Two days ago I almost ran out of gas waiting to buy gas in Baldwin County rather than an adjacent county in order to “shop at home.”
Shopping at home means for every dollar spent here it turns over seven times to assist others in the county. In other words spending $100 in Baldwin County adds $700 to the overall economy of Baldwin County.
Then someone please tell me why our city of Milledgeville in our downtown street and sidewalk renovations are using a Bryon, Macon, Eatonton and Gray Georgia Concrete company when we have an adequate concrete company, who employs residents of Baldwin County, that is a member of the chamber and pays city and county taxes in Baldwin County.
City and county government please practice what you preach and “shop at home,” and for every dime of taxpayer money you spend, “Spend it at Home.”
