My journey started over a year ago. Dr. Russell Edwards diagnosed my loved one with diabetes. My dilemma: two insulin shots a day. Can I do this? With Dr. Cheryl Council and Dr. Russell Edwards’ help, I knew I could do this. I loved my baby so much.
Shortly after my husband passed suddenly, an unexpected gift came my way. Honey Bear became my soulmate, and I had several beautiful years with her.
Dr. Edwards and Dr. Council work so well as a team. Dr. Council has been so vigilant in monitoring her care and progress. Dr. Edwards, being thorough, found an unexpected, rare blood disorder that could not be treated and is now becoming more prevalent (not related to her diabetes).
He was there for me, he stayed after hours for us when I needed him at her critical end. I can’t express the compassion and kindness he displayed. I’ll always remember his true concern for my feelings.
I don’t know if veterinarians take an oath, but some MDs should take notice and apply their bedside manner. My end thanks is to Bobbie Thompson of ARF for giving us an option for our loved ones as they pass.
