MILLEDGEVILLE — Mr. David T. Kight, 42 of Vidalia, died Friday, March 1, 2013, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. He was a native of Vidalia and lived in Toombs County all his life. He was a professor at Brewton Parker College as well as the chief information officer. He was a member of Vidalia Kiwanis Club and Circle K Club at Brewton Parker College. He attended Calvary Baptist Church on Aimwell and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Denton Dustin Tapley Sr. and Bessie W. Tapley.

Mr. Kight is survived by his wife, Aimee Kight; two sons, Tapley and Bobby Behr; two daughters, Leah and Karen; his mother, Dale Edwards and husband C.E. all of Vidalia; his stepfather, Fred Behringer of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Donna K. Giles and husband, Mike, of Milledgeville, and Debra K. Huddleston and husband, Kevin of Murphy of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and other extended family.

A memorial celebration was held Monday, March 4 at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. Efton Green officiating.

The family received friends at the funeral home Monday from 3:30 until 4:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made at Ameris Bank in the name of David or Aimee Kight for the benefit of the children.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.
