MILLEDGEVILLE — Mr. Lewis W. Layfield Jr., 75, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013.  Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia Veteran's Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Baker officiating.

The family will be at Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. to receive friends.

Mr. Layfield was a lifelong resident of Milledgeville.  He was the son of the late Louis Watson Layfield Sr. and Irene Patterson Layfield.  He  was a  veteran of the  U.S. Air Force, was retired from Georgia Department of Corrections and attended Hillside Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Sue Sullins Layfield of Milledgeville; son, Louie W. (Tammy) Layfield III; and grandchildren, Tyler Layfield and Hannah Layfield.
