EATONTON —

Ms. H. Virginia Allen, 88, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec., 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville chapel.

Ms. Allen was a native of Columbus, Ga. and had lived in Florida for most of her adult life. She was the daughter of the late Richard O. and Hallie Boyd Allen and was preceded in death by her siblings Ludie Mae Shinn, Olivia Kinzer, Frances Allen, Emmie Gilbert, Joe Allen, Richard Allen and Ray Allen. She was the Republican Party chairwoman for the State of Florida for 20 years and retired in 1973 from the Cincinnati, Ohio airport as an air traffic controller after 35 years of service.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
