MILLEDGEVILLE — Eddie Woodrow Jackson, 85, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Freedom Church with the Rev. Wendell Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Jackson was a native of Soperton but had made his home in Milledgeville for many years. He was the owner and operator of Jackson’s Grocery for more than 30 years and retired from Baldwin County Fire Department with 20 years of service.

Mr. Jackson drove a school bus and worked security at Oconee Regional Medical Center for 17 years.  He was a member of Freedom Church.

Survivors include four sons: Eddie W. “Jackie” (Dianne) Jackson Jr. of Milledgeville; Timbo (Debbie) Jackson of Gray; Tony (Linda) Jackson of Milledgeville; Nathan Jackson of Las Cruces, N.M.; five daughters: Linda Arnold of Milledgeville; Marie Jones of Claxton; Susan Kennedy, Pamela Hood and Amanda Newsome, all of Milledgeville; two brothers, Ed Jackson of Dublin and Hayward Jackson of Savannah: three sisters, Frances Gornto of Dublin and Dianne Parker and Iris Minter, both of Milledgeville; 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
