MILLEDGEVILLE — Homegoing services for Deacon John Charlie Brown of 477 Meriwether Road, Milledgeville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday December 7, 2012 at Rock Mill Baptist Church 2770 North Columbia St., Milledgeville. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. A wake will held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Deacon Brown served as chairman of the deacon board and was a faithful and devoted servant at Rock Mill Baptist Church for more than 68 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Parham Brown.

His memory and legacy of love will forever linger in the hearts of his children: six daughters, Ella (James) Milner of Haddock, Patricia (Calvin) Waller of Mableton, Bernice Butts, Barbara Williams, Verdell (Albert) Rice, and Hazel (Michael) Brown, all of Milledgeville; two sons, John Calvin Brown and Johnny C. Brown of Atlanta; one brother, Joe (Frankie) Brown of Milledgeville, 22 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
