JEWELL — Mr. John W. Kendrick Sr., 94, of 10 Cedar Lane, Jewell, died Oct. 28, 2009, at his Jewell residence.
He leaves to cherish his memories five children, daughter, Mildred Darnell K. Daniels of Jewell; four sons, John W. Kendrick Jr. and Dorothy of Warrenton, Emettress Kendrick and Sharon, Clarence Kendrick and Joyce, both of Augusta, Stanley Kendrick and Sylvia, Thomson; one sister, Nina M. Kendrick of Augusta; one brother, Paul Kendrick and Ruthye of Augusta; one brother-in-law, the Rev. Joseph H. Lewis of Spartanburg, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Luvenia Kendrick of Sparta, Georgia M. Kendrick of Augusta, Lillian C. Lewis of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jessie Mae Kendrick of Merritt Island, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Trinity CME Church near Jewell with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Christopher G. Johnson, pastor, will officiate. The Rev. Larry Fryer is the eulogist.
Ingram Brothers Funeral Home Inc., 249 Spring St., Sparta, has charge of arrangements.
