Myrtis Seymour


WASHINGTON — Mrs. Myrtis Seymour, 74, of Washington, died Oct. 27, 2009, at MCG. She was a native of Oglethorpe County, the daughter of the late Samuel Eaton and IIazel Chafin Bonner. Mrs. Seymour had worked as a shipping supervisor in the textile industry. After retirement she worked the election polls and worked at the Wilkes County Stockyard. She was a member of Mallorysville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harold Seymour.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in the Mallorysville Baptist Church Cemetery in Tignall with the Rev. Donnie Berry officiating. Jack Leard Jr., Brandon Howard, Matthew Howard, Ricky Morgan, Graynor Hardy and Douglas Casey will serve as pallbearers with Ricky Dawson and Graydon and Pat Bobo serving as honorary pallbearers.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Joc Hardy of Rayle; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis and Sharon Seymour of Milledgeville and Dan Seymour of Washington; six grandchildren, Denise John, Mike, Mason and Blair Seymour and Jennifer and Gaynor Hardy; two and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew Howard.
