SPARTA —

Mrs. Catherine Johnson Epps, 76, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at 4 p.m. in Knowles Chapel with the Rev. Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be at Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. to receive friends.

Mrs. Epps was a native and lifelong resident of Hancock County. She was the daughter of the late Pierce Mae Batchelor Johnson and was preceded in death by her husband, Sebron Epps, and son, Dennis Epps. She was a beautician for Sparta Healthcare and was treasurer, member and Keeper of the Flame for many years at Knowles Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Brassell (Thomas); son, Chris (Jo) Epps all of Sparta; grandchildren, Cathy (Randall) Reynolds of Eatonton, Sam Brassell of Sparta and Amy (Joe) Nelson of Gray; and great granddaughter, Aiyana Nelson.
