MILLEDGEVILLE —

Marilyn “Jackie” Moore Mixon, age 83, was called to her heavenly home Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012. A Celebration of Life Family Gathering will be Saturday, Dec. 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. at 160 N. Richmond St., Milledgeville.

Mrs. Mixon was born in Bibb County but made her home in Wilkinson County and later in Milledgeville. She was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections and a member of Mosleyville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Mary Moore; husband, Henry Evans Mixon Sr.; stepson, Henry Evans Mixon Jr.; brother, James (Buddy) Moore; step-granddaughter, Donna Lynn Mixon; niece, Carol Ann Moore; companion, Danny Godfrey;, brothers-in-law, Alton Brown and Carlton Pennington.

Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn Simpson (Jimmy) of Sandersville, Angie Marshall (Allen) of Milledgeville; stepson Charles Mixon (Lynette) and step-daughter Vickie Mixon, both of McIntyre; sisters Lyndall Pennington and Shirley Brown, both of Milledgeville, Barbara Pinkerton (Ben) of Eatonton; brothers, Robert Earl Moore (Cathy) of Milledgeville and Eugene Moore (Totsie) of McIntyre; sister-in-law Floy Moore of Milledgeville; grandsons, Tony Tanner of Deepstep and Jacob Marshall of Milledgeville; great-grandson, Jaylan Tanner of Deepstep; step-grandchildren, Penny Mixon Moye, Margie Mixon Loyd and Van Mixon, and several nieces and nephews.
