In memory of Roger Ruggieri, 04/23/1953 - 01/29/2013

A Celebration Service of the life of Mr. Roger Alan Ruggieri, 59, of Milledgeville who passed away Tuesday, Jan 29, 2013, will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at 10 a.m. with military honors in Williams Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Ruggieri was a native of Norwalk, Conn., the son of the late Arthur D. and Winifred McNeal Ruggeri. He lived in West Haven, Conn. prior to moving to Milledgeville in 1987. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving from 1971 to 1975. He was the owner of ACR Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Company and worked at Triumph Aerospace Company. He was an avid motorcycle rider, going on many charity rides, especially those benefiting children. He held the annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Charity Ride for more than seven years, raising in excess of $20,000. He was a member of the VFW and the Morris Little Post of the American Legion.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Cassandra "Sandie" Ruggieri; his daughter, Jalene (Karl) Peaspanen of Ashville, Ala.; son, Christopher (Pam) Ruggieri of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Katie and Joey Peaspanen; sisters, Nancy (Gene) Suttenberg, Virginia (Lou) Guimond; brothers, Michael (Virginia) Ruggieri and Arthur Ruggieri all of Connecticut; and various nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honour of Katie Peaspanen and in memory of Roger Ruggieri for his tireless work in raising money and awareness to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes for his granddaughter and so many like her.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday immediately following the service.
