MILLEDGEVILLE —
A celebration of life service for Ms. Monnie Youmans Johnson, 75, will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, February 9, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
Ms. Monnie was a native and current resident of Baldwin County but made her home in Savannah for more than 40 years where she worked as a bar manager. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Youmans; a sister, Joann Youmans; and a great-grandchild, Hayden Pevey.
Ms. Monnie was very passionate in providing love and care for her flowers, her pets and other various animals throughout her life, and she also enjoyed fishing. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include her children: Rickey English (Brenda), Benny English (Joann), Melanie Wood (Gator) and Suzanne Brooks (Eddie) all of Milledgeville; three sisters, Jane Babb and Jean Bennell Mosley, both of Milledgeville, and Melanie Stevens of Brunswick; a sister-in-law, Pat Youmans; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a special friend, Warren Mathieu of Wilmington Island; and her pet companion, Hooch.
