Gina McEachern

MILLEDGEVILLE — Gina Rodgers McEachern, 67, of Fitzgerald, died January 11, 2013, at Heritage Healthcare in Fitzgerald.

Funeral services was held at 4 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013, in the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Mike Ruffin and the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Steve Haren delivered the eulogy. Interment will follow in Arp Cemetery in Irwin County. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McEachern was bon March 2, 1945, in Hayes, Middlesex, England, to the late Perry and Iris Westbury Ridgers. A 1963 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, she attended Norman Park College and earned an associate's degree in art education from Middle Georgia College. She also attended an art institute in Atlanta and Georgia College in Milledgeville.

A former resident of Cochran and Milledgeville, she lived most of her life in Fitzgerald. She was a former paraprofessional in the media center at Ben Hill Primary School.

Mrs. McEachern loved to draw and paint and was an accomplished artist. She loved the beach and the outdoors, her cats and horses.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald and the Jim Carlton Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her husband, Billy McEachern of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law, Christy Chapman Lee and Brian of Alpharetta; son and daughter-in-law, David Chapman and Sally of Milledgeville; step-daughters and sons-inlaw, Rebecca Braddy and Brian, and Amanda Batten and Greg, all of Fitzgerald; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; as well as two brothers and sisters-in-law: Alfred Rodgers and Vickie of Ocilla, and Randy Rodgers and Dianne of Fitzgerald.

The family suggests those desiring to send memorials may send them to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 367, Fitzgerald, Ga. 31750.
