Jackie Elizabeth Lavender Rookes

Mrs. Jackie Elizabeth Lavender Rookes, 78, of Milledgeville passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009.

Memorial services will be held by the family.

Mrs. Rookes was a native of Putnam County, the daughter of the late Dewey and Lillie Gilreath Lavender. She retired from Central State Hospital after serving many years as food services manager. She was a member of Hardwick Baptist Church. Mrs. Rookes was predeceased by a grandson, William Cochran, and a brother, Richard Lavender.

Survivors include daughter, Pamela Hamilton; sons, Weyman Paul Cochran and Joey Patton of Milledgeville; sisters, Joyce Hollis of Newnan, Jewel Roberts of Colorado, June Fullington Rexroat of Vienna; brother, Bailey Lavender of Lenox; grandchildren, Amber Herringdine, Sarah Cochran and Lillie Cochran; great-grandchildren, Annalee Herringdine, Sophie Cochran, Kaden Cochran; special daughters, Kay Callihan and April Fullington; five nephews and three nieces.
