Harvey Wilson Jr.

MILLEDGEVILLE — Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Lamar Wilson Jr., 56, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in First Baptist Church of Eatonton with the Rev. Keithen Tucker, the Rev. Bill Kitchen and the Rev. Tom Tippett officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Eatonton from 2 p.m. until the service hour Friday.

Mr. Wilson passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012. He was a native of Eatonton and had made his home in Valdosta for the past 16 years. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and enjoyed gardening. He was an artist and was an accomplished writer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Eatonton and Park Avenue Methodist Church in Valdosta.

He is survived by his son, Harvey “Ashford” Phillip Wilson; daughter, Ellen Amelia Wilson, both of Valdosta; parents, Harvey and Amelia Adams Wilson, sister, Ame (Chuck) Haley; nieces and nephews, Wil, Ferrell and MacKay Haley, all of Eatonton; and a number of aunts, uncles and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund C/O Pi Kappa Alpha at the Peoples Bank of Eatonton in memory of Harvey Wilson Jr. Express online condolences at www.williamsfuneralhome.net.
