MILLEDGEVILLE — Betty Herrin Lewis, 69, of Woodbridge, Va., passed away at Betty’s Place Oct. 4, 2012. She was born in 1943 to the late Luther and Louise Herrin. Betty worked at the church preschool and with young children. She enjoyed her church and soap operas, but most of all, spending time with her family. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hansel Lewis, whom she married at the age of 19 and was married for 40 years, and two sisters, Gail Clay and Karen Herrin.

She is survived by her daughter, Angel Nicholson of Woodbridge, Va.; two sons, Mark Lewis of Woodbridge, Va., and Greg Lewis of Mobile, Ala.; three brothers, Virgil Herrin of Chatsworth, Michael Herrin of Milledgeville and Berry Herrin of Atlanta; and seven grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Moore’s Funeral Home, 301 S. Wayne St., Milledgeville, from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012. A funeral service will be held at Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 339 Salem Church Road, Milledgeville, at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. Interment will following at Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Betty H. Lewis to Betty’s Place, 13656 Van Doren Road, Manassas, VA 20112.
