Georgia Southern's class includes 7 running backs

STATESBORO, Ga. — Georgia Southern's fourth signing class under coach Jeff Monken included a strong emphasis on running backs, defensive backs and defensive linemen.

Of the 23 players to sign with Georgia Southern on Wednesday, seven were running backs. The class includes six defensive backs and five defensive linemen.

Monken and his staff signed 18 players from Georgia.

The class includes running back Xavier Tobler, who helped lead Ware County to the Class AAAAA state championship game. Among other running backs: Chaz Thornton of Stephens County, Cam Lewis of North Gwinnett, Chris Jordan of Thomson, Keshun Hill of Northside-Warner Robins and Demarcus Godfrey of East Coweta.

The only quarterback in the class is Alfred "L.A." Ramsby from Cincinnati, who topped 1,600 yards rushing and 1,600 yards passing for Colerain High School.
