Pheasant hunters and competitors take note!
A very special pheasant shooting competition has been scheduled for Feb. 20 to benefit Brooke Pearson. Pearson is a native of Milledgeville and has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and the proceeds from the event will help offset her medical expenses and treatment. So the cause is a good one — and from the heart.
As an added bonus, there will be several familier faces on hand to help Pearson defeat cancer, including JMA associate head football coach and former UGA fullback J.T. Wall.
Joining Wall will be former UGA All-American offensive lineman Matt Stinchcomb, who joined ESPN in June 2009.
The event will take place at L&L; Quail Farm at 5725 Wriley Road off Highway 112. A delicious barbecue chicken plate will be provided to those who attend the event.
The pheasant shoot will began at 10:30 a.m., and other UGA greats may also attend.
The event is certainly for a very good cause and should be a lot of fun. A full feature with more detailed information will run in next week’s Union-Recorder.
For more information, call John Herring at (478) 456-2707.
